M&A #42: Rolla

A slightly shorter one for you today. Rolla (aka Eli Belilty) is a massive garage head and has dug into his catalogue to deliver a sweet 20 mins just for us. With some absolute face melters of bass lines, razor sharp drum sounds and tight mixing to match, it's a gloriously dark and spooky trip into the bass world. Rolla's in his first year in Cam, and having got his feet under the table you've got to think he's on for big things with the recent bass revival in the city. How did you record the mix?

With the DJM-REC app through my 450 mixer and CDJ 900s

What were you trying to do with it?

Put my mixing skills to the test; throwing in old school and new school Garage in together. Everything from club classics to Dark 2-Step to a few white labels. As a principle, I always use new music for every mix - whether it’s in my house, at the studio or at a club. Why? Keeps me on my feet and allows for a more natural mix rather than just switching between a pre planned mix
